=hula= Hālau Ka Liko Pua O Kalaniākea Pākīpika

ALOHA! E KOMO MAI!! Welcome to Hālau Ka Liko Pua O Kalaniākea Pākīpika, specializing in perpetuating, preserving, sharing the rich Hawaiian culture and history.

Our Hula stems from a 61-year old lineage founded in our majestic home of Kane’ohe in O’ahu, Hawai’i, by the First Miss Aloha Hula, Kumu Nui Aloha Dalire, which she passed on to her daughter and our “hālau - hula school’s” leader and “Kumu Hula - hula teacher” Miss Aloha Hula 1991, Kumu Hula Kapua Dalire-Moe.

With our “Ke Akua,” Heavenly Father God’s grace and guidance, we have been blessed to share the spirit of aloha around the world and inspire generations of our dancers to proudly represent our “hālau,” and compete at the prestigious Merrie Monarch Festival, popularly known as “the Hula Olympics of the world.”

Edrianne Dianna “Kahiau” ‘Ekekela Flores-Arend is the “Alaka’i - Leader/Director” of Hālau Ka Liko Pua O Kalaniākea Pākīpika, located at Yokota Air Base & The Pacific. Kahiau is a “Kalaniākea Beauty” hālau dancer and a Merrie Monarch Veteran who graced the grand stage in Hilo, Hawai’i in 2023 and 2024. Kahiau is also an Active Duty Air Force Senior Enlisted Leader who is driven by a “Legacy of Service” just like her hula ohana. Kahiau is forever grateful to her Kumu Kapua’s direct guidance and blessings to live out the famous saying “hula is life.

By joining our “hālau” you will learn the traditional form of hula called “Kahiko,” the modern form of hula called “‘Auana,” as well as variations of chants called “Oli,” with trademarked choreography and songs or “Mele.” Most importantly, we will learn the deeply rooted and rich stories of our “Kanaka Maoli - native Hawaiian people,” and Kumu Nui Aloha Dalire’s definition of hula as “the expression of one’s innermost feelings.”

You will have the opportunity to join the legacy and train with the world’s best “haumāna - students” to one day, represent our hālau and showcase your understanding at the prestigious Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo, Hawai’i.

Dancing LIVE for Josh Tatofi at the annaul Ho'olau Kanaka Hula Festival 2023.
