OKINAWA & INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS (JAPAN CLASS TIMES): ONLINE CLASS (JAPAN TIME) - ZOOM - 4 SESSIONS PER MONTH (*Private Link & meeting ID to live sessions & recordings are provided via email after online payment*)
This class is for those new to Ori Tahiti (Tahitian Dance) & Polynesian Dancing or those with experience.
◆ Almost all students join through this class as Heimana.
◆ You will thoroughly learn the Ori Tahiti Basics proper movement/execution; traditional chants; two forms of Ori Tahiti “The Otea” - choreographed around a theme, techical and very physical with its lively drums and made up of rhythmical motifs called "Pehe" supported by the drums or "Pahu" and percussion "To'ere" and '“The Aparima” - or rhythmic dance to the sound of guitars and songs by the language of the “kiss of the hands” You will also slowly learn a trademarked halau song and choreography while having fun.
◆ Specialized Polynesian Dancing will also be taught by Cultural Guest Experts & Instructors which include Siva Samoa, modern Chamorro dances, Māori Haka and Māori Poi Balls.
◆ Each student will be observed and evaluated by "Hura Tau - experienced dancer" KAHIAU FLORES-AREND on basics, stage presence, and movement execution and will then assign the appropriate class category to ensure the student's growth and progression in Ori Tahiti.
